For the past few years, he’s been producing those lovely tunes for various games, including Dead by Daylight’s Silent Hill DLC, Let it Die, and The Medium. Now, Toyama finally revealed this new game, titled Slitterhead, at The Game Awards 2021. Joining Keiichiro is someone quite familiar with darker and quirky games, music composer Akira Yamaoka. One of the biggest and most surprising reveals from last year was Slitterhead at The Game Awards 2021. With Slitterhead, he’s back working on just that, games that tell a darker story, and the trailer is evident of that. Following suit, he founded Bokeh Game Studio Inc and set out to work on the darker side of games, which he enjoyed working on. Seeing how we haven’t had a Silent Hill game for years and wanting to get back to working on games in the horror genre, Keiichiro Toyama departed ways with Sony Interactive Entertainment back in 2020.

“I would like younger, new generations who don’t know our past works to play it,” said Toyama about Slitterhead which will not only be the debut game of his new Bokeh Game Studios but also mark his return to the horror genre. He adds now that such a creature design is intended to leave players in awe as they face off against “something natural and intentionally transcendental.” Toyama previously teased that these creatures can mimic humans and players will have to find ways in Slitterhead to make them reveal themselves. “…Brainless corpses were found one after another” after which an investigation confirmed that “these incidents were not the work of a human being, but by the hand of an unknown monster.”
